Townsville Grammar School is seeking a Bus Operations Supervisor to oversee the safe, efficient and compliant delivery of the School’s bus services. This role is responsible for coordinating daily bus operations, supervising driving staff, and managing the School’s bus fleet and pool vehicles. The position works closely with school leadership and external providers to ensure transport services meet operational, safety and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Coordinate daily bus operations, routes, schedules and driver allocations. Supervise bus drivers, including onboarding, training and regular assessments. Manage fleet safety, cleanliness, maintenance, repairs and on-road compliance. Ensure compliance with NHVR, Queensland Transport Operator Accreditation and WHS obligations. Act as the on-call operational contact for disruptions, breakdowns and service issues. Investigate incidents, implement corrective actions and support continuous improvement. Conduct audits and inspections of vehicles, equipment and operational systems. Provide operational and compliance advice to staff and management. Support oversight of externally provided bus services. Lead the implementation and operation of electronic booking and passenger tracking systems. Skills, Qualifications & Experience Experience coordinating bus or transport operations, including scheduling and service delivery. Working knowledge of NHVR, Queensland Transport Operator Accreditation and WHS requirements. Supervisory experience with frontline operational staff. Strong problem-solving capability in operational and incident-based environments. Experience conducting compliance audits and managing corrective actions. Heavy Rigid (HR Licence – GI Sector). TMR Industry Authority (or ability to obtain). Working with Children Blue Card (or ability to obtain). Basic First Aid and CPR (or ability to obtain). A position description can be downloaded here.
