The Director Engineering Services will provide support within our division as well as other CASG divisions. The role will also contribute and coordinate Job Family support for the Job Family Sponsor and provide specialist advice and support to the Defence Learning Academy effort in the Engineering and Technical domains. About our Team The Engineering and Technical Directorate is within the Engineering, Technology and Materiel Logistics Division in CASG. This is an integrated team of APS, ADF and contractor personnel. The Engineering and Technical Directorate provides the engineering and technical services (e.g. policy, implementation guidance, workforce planning, job family advice, training and professionalisation) required to support capability delivery in business units across CASG, NSSG and GWEO. The Engineering Services team is primarily focused on Engineering and Technical Job Family, support for Defence Learning Academy, and professionalisation including contract management of commercial credentialing arrangements with Engineers Australia. The Engineering and Technical workforce include several thousand engineering and technical staff in CASG, NSSG and GWEO, many of whom work within the Project Offices and Systems Program Offices to deliver capability to the ADF. Our Ideal Candidate Our ideal candidate will come from an extensive engineering background with proven experience and skills in Engineering or Technical workforce policy or management. Key attributes and experience we are seeking: Deep understanding of the skills, competencies and capabilities required to develop Engineering and Technical workforces within CASG and other delivery groups. Experience of workforce management initiatives and strategies specifically relating to Engineering and Technical workforces. A proven ability to develop, review and advise on engineering workforce related policy, procedures and guidance. Strong stakeholder management skills with ability to build and maintain productive working relationships and influence outcomes. A precise and confident communicator in both verbal and written communications. An experienced and inspired leader and mentor who is passionate about building a high performance team.
