About the Role: Data Platform Ownership: Take technical ownership of the Data Platform environment, encompassing infrastructure, architecture, security, cost efficiency, and operational health, with a continuous focus on optimisation and future-proofing Data Warehouse Design & Modeling: Lead the implementation and evolution of industry-best data modeling practices (e.g., Star, Snowflake). Design, build, and optimise DWH fact, dimension, and summary "Golden Tables" to support high-performance reporting and analytics. Historical Data Management: Introduce and implement robust history capturing features within the Data Platform to accurately track and report on changes over time. Data Pipeline Development & Maintenance: Architect, build, and maintain highly scalable, reliable, and efficient data pipelines using modern tools and coding practices. Continuously evolve pipelines to adhere to contemporary best practices. Stakeholder Collaboration & Enablement: Work effectively and collaboratively with stakeholders across the business to clarify the requirements, promote data governance best practices, and ensure the DWH meets organisational needs for capturing, storing, and using data. BI & Analytics Support: Provide necessary data layers, services, and high-quality data marts to enable the Data Analysts to operate effectively and efficiently. Open-source integrations and maintenance: Expand our Data Platform ecosystem with industry-standard open source technologies for data cataloguing, orchestration, etc. About You: Dedicated experience working in both Data Engineering and Data Warehouse development. Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and managing robust ETL/ELT data pipelines in a cloud environment. Deep, demonstrable expertise in Data Modelling (Star, Snowflake schemas) and Data Warehouse design methodologies. Extensive experience with modern data platforms, cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS), and data lake architectures. Highly competent in developing in Python and advanced SQL for data manipulation and optimisation. Exceptional communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders. Ability to act as a part of the team and independently, drive initiatives, and demonstrate kindness and empathy in collaboration. A commercial mindset focused on delivering tangible business value and cost-effective solutions. Keen eye for detail and the ability to simplify the complex.
