The opportunity We are seeking an Implementation Manager – Security & Risk to join our Integrity Unit and support the effective delivery of security and risk initiatives across CSIRO. The Integrity Unit provides strategic advice and protective frameworks through a collaborative approach with Research and Enterprise units. In this role, you will translate security and risk frameworks, policies and priorities into tangible programs. This includes planning, designing and implementing high-quality programs of work that support the consistent and continuous improvement of security and risk practices across CSIRO. Reporting to the Chief Risk and Security Officer, you will work closely with senior leaders and stakeholders, operating flexibly across specialised programs. The role requires sound judgement, adaptability and collaboration to progress initiatives aligned with the Integrity Unit’s objectives. Your high-level duties will include: Work independently to plan, set, and work towards implementing high-quality security and risk program initiatives across CSIRO. Apply understanding of security and risk matters to recognise opportunities for improvement, initiate innovative solutions or proposals, and influence stakeholders to support and adopt change. Operate flexibly across the Integrity unit to implement specialised programs of work, adapting priorities as directed by the Chief Risk and Security Officer, to deliver effective program outcomes. Engage with internal stakeholders, including senior leadership, to understand diverse requirements to implement Integrity Unit’s initiatives, taking responsibility for program delivery, and problem solving promptly to address any barriers in a constructive manner. Collaborate and influence across teams to develop and strengthen practices that support the objectives of the Integrity Unit. Role particulars Location : Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane and Newcastle preferred, other locations considered. Salary: AU$118k – AU$127k plus 15.4% superannuation Tenure: Indefinite, Full-time Flexible work arrangements available Reference: 102666 As the successful candidate, you will bring: Relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience in security and risk and/or related field e.g. business, governance, compliance, or a similar discipline. Demonstrated experience leading the implementation and delivery of security and/or risk programs or initiatives in a complex environment. Ability to apply practical approaches to national security conventions, with an informed awareness of contemporary security considerations relevant to both the government and research sectors. Excellent stakeholder engagement, including negotiating key outcomes, and providing persuasive advice in the face of divergent views while maintaining strong relationships. The ability to work effectively in a team environment and proactively collaborate with cross-functional teams to accomplish objectives. The ability to identify complex issues, conduct detailed analysis and develop appropriate responses through critical thinking Demonstrated ability to foster trust, encourage new ideas, and value others’ skills and experience in a diverse team environment.
