The Staff Specialist Geriatrician will provide and support training to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice. This is a Category A position. Demonstrated significant experience relevant to Geriatrics and evidence of competence in skills relevant to a regional centre hospital practice. Excellent communication and liaison skills, fostering positive and productive working relationships between team members and with other disciplines. Demonstrated commitment to continuing medical education relevant to Geriatrics including teaching of medical students, JMOs, Nursing Staff, and other staff as required and an ongoing commitment to research. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to clinical quality improvement, accreditation requirements and peer review. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team. Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time. Current NSW Drivers Licence and willingness to travel throughout the LHD as required.
