Skills Required: - Qualification (Certificate III or IV Individual Support or Aged Care/Disability) - Medication Assist Certificate/Module completed (beneficial) - Able to work at least three weekdays (we don't do nights or weeekends) - Able to work shorter shifts as well as longer shifts (minimum shift 1 hour) - Able to travel to clients homes in the Northern Region of Melbourne - Excellent communication skills and be reliable - Strong empathy and compassion towards others - Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team - Good organisational skills and attention to detail - Ability to remain calm under pressure - Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the social care industry Responsibilities: As a Care Professional, you will be responsible for assisting clients with their daily activities, promoting their independence and wellbeing, and ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met. 1. Provide direct care assistance to clients including personal hygiene support, meal preparation, medication reminders, mobility support, etc. 2. Assist clients with maintaining a clean-living environment by performing light housekeeping duties. 3. Promote independence among clients by encouraging them to participate in activities that enhance their physical and mental wellbeing. 4. Establish positive relationships with clients through effective communication, active listening, and understanding their individual needs. 5. Maintain accurate records of client interactions including observations made during visits or shifts. 6. Report any changes or concerns regarding the client's health or well-being promptly to the appropriate supervisor or healthcare professional. 7. Comply with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations related to social care practices. 8. Drive clients to appointments, shopping, social support such as going out for lunch or coffee or shopping on their behalf. Qualifications: 1. Qualification in Aged Care, Disability or Individual Support or related field is preferred but not required. Nursing and Medical students encouraged to apply. 2. Previous experience working in the social care industry is an advantage but not mandatory. 3. A valid Australian driver's license and access to a reliable registered vehicle and insurance 4. Australian Federal Police Check (or willing to obtain one) 5. First Aid and CPR certifications are preferred
