We are seeking an Information & Communication Technology Trainee with a genuine interest and passion to work with computers and technology. The role of the successful ITC Trainee will include assisting information technology staff with the maintenance and support of Council’s information technology equipment. Key Outcomes & Key Accountabilities for this 24-month traineeship based in Innisfail will include first line information technology support to councils’ operational areas and internal customers with a timely service. Key Accountabilities: Assist with first line support for systems, hardware and software Assist with the installation and configuration of systems, hardware and software. Ensure accurate and prompt registration of all customer requests with the Council IT Help Desk and respond to assigned requests within prescribed procedures Maintain the highest ethical standards and confidentiality in dealing with our customers and each other Develop individual skills and knowledge that will better serve our customers. General administration duties as directed Requirements: Good Communication and interpersonal skills Basic knowledge of current technology and software applications Certificate II or III in Information Technology is highly regarded Be a self-starter with initiative who is willing to learn new processes and develop additional skills Possess a high level of motivation in performing routine duties No formal qualifications apply for this position; however, candidates that have completed year 12 will be highly regarded Strong focus on quality of work whilst maintaining attention to detail and accuracy Current Queensland "C" class drivers licence Problem solving skills Punctuality, approachable and friendly Good oral and written communication skills Be able to gain clearance on a pre employment medical including drug and alcohol test Who We Are?
