About The Role The key objective for this fixed-term position is to support parks, streets, and public space maintenance through landscaping, cleaning, and minor repairs to create a positive image and sense of pride for the Indigo Shire region. It will also assist other teams and respond to emergencies while following Council standards and procedures. Perform gardening and landscaping tasks including mowing, planting, pruning, and irrigation checks. Maintain park assets, playgrounds, street furniture, bins, and assist with waste services for events. Clean streets, footpaths, bus shelters, and car parks. Assist road and tree crews, complete records, and support emergency and administrative tasks as required.Fixed Term contract, full-time to February 2027. Hourly rate is $32.76 - $34.79, equating to an annual base salary of $64,738 - $68,755 About You We are looking for someone who is passionate about making our community look best to join Parks Gardens Maintenace team. You will have good time management, communication and teamwork skills, along with the initiative to prioritise tasks and deliver quality work. Relevant horticultural qualifications, licences and plant operation experience are required to perform duties safely and professionally. Manage workloads effectively, work independently or in a team, and maintain accurate records. Communicate clearly with staff and the public, providing professional customer service at all times. Hold (or be working toward) horticulture qualifications, a White Card and Medium Rigid licence. Competently operate small trucks, mowers and plant; chainsaw, traffic control, chemical and skid steer/backhoe licences are desirable.
