About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and passionate Coordinator, Student Engagement & Events to lead the delivery of dynamic programs and events that enrich the student experience across our Victorian campuses. Reporting to the Manager, Student Life & Leadership, you will lead the promotion, coordination and evaluation of campus life initiatives that bring students together, foster wellbeing and support successful transition and retention. You will: Lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of a diverse calendar of inclusive and accessible student events and programs. Coordinate VU’s annual Orientation and Student Welcome programs across all Victorian campuses. Provide expert advice on student engagement and experience trends, including analysis and reporting. Support student groups and volunteers to actively participate in campus life. Manage program budgets, sponsorship and exhibitor engagement. Supervise the Student Engagement Officer – International and a team of casual Students as Staff. Build strong partnerships across the University and with external providers to ensure high-quality, compliant and engaging events. This is a role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple projects simultaneously, and enjoys collaborating with diverse stakeholders to create meaningful student experiences. Salary: HEP 7 $101,288 - $109,639 per annum 17% employer superannuation Employment Type: Part Time, Fixed Term for 12 months Hours: 29.40 per week (0.8 FTE) Location: Primary location is Footscray Park however you will be required to travel across our Victorian campuses Work Arrangement: This position is predominantly campus-based to support the delivery of events and student engagement activities; however, when events are not scheduled, the role offers hybrid flexibility with the option to work from home About You: You are a strategic and hands-on events professional with significant experience delivering programs for youth or higher education cohorts. You bring: A degree with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and extensive professional experience. Demonstrated expertise in planning and delivering multiple large-scale events simultaneously. Strong leadership capability, with experience supervising staff and fostering high-performing teams. Excellent communication, presentation and report writing skills. A strong customer service mindset and commitment to inclusive practice. Sound judgement, initiative and problem-solving skills. A valid Working With Children Check. Experience within the tertiary education sector and a current Level 1 First Aid Certificate will be highly regarded. The University is a Child Safe organisation. You will be required to hold a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) or be willing to obtain one prior to commencing employment.
