HR & Recruitment HR - Officer / Adviser Carmichael Mine Permanent / Full Time 5/2/4/3 on site Roster FIFO from Rockhampton or Townsville Full-Time Permanent Opporunity About the role You will be the trusted first point of contact for HR and ER/IR matters, providing practical, compliant and solutions-focused advice to leaders at all levels. Working closely with the HR Superintendent, you’ll manage a predominantly operational workload while contributing to broader people and culture initiatives across site. Key responsibilities Provide accurate advice and interpretation of the Enterprise Agreement, policies and procedures across HR and ER/IR matters. Support and guide leaders through performance management, grievances, investigations and disciplinary processes, ensuring procedural fairness and consistency. Coach frontline leaders on effective people management, compliance and best-practice ER/IR application. Prepare and review employment-related documentation, including warnings, show cause letters, investigation outcomes and termination correspondence. Partner with leaders to strengthen workforce engagement, culture and communication. Actively contribute to camp committees, engagement initiatives and onsite communications. Manage a mix of approximately 80% operational and reactive HR/ER matters and 20% strategic and improvement-focused project work. About you Tertiary qualifications in HR, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. Minimum 5 years’ experience in HR/ER/IR within mining, heavy industry or civil construction environments. Strong working knowledge of employment legislation and enterprise agreement interpretation. Proven experience managing complex employee relations matters and providing pragmatic, commercially sound advice. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the confidence to influence and support leaders. Collaborative, adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced site-based role.
