Task & responsibilities Provide outstanding craftsmanship to fit optical lenses into frames in accordance with prescriptions to achieve precise visual, optical and cosmetic outcomes Carry out specialised fitting of optical lenses including for frames made of natural materials like horn and wood, as well as rimless frames (eg Lindberg, Gotti) and wrap fit sunglasses Carry out frame repairs Provide expert advice on lens options, coatings, and frame styles Using high level of expertise to confer with other optical professionals, including optometrists to help bring about best solutions to challenging optical issues. Accurately measure customers’ eyes and fit eyewear to ensure comfort and proper vision correction. Process orders and manage customer records in compliance with industry standards Be familiar with and Implement work health and safety regulations Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in the optical field Qualification & experience Certificate IV in Optical Dispensing or equivalent with at least 2 years employment experience as an Optical Dispenser (or in a similar role) within a laboratory environment Understanding and translating optical prescriptions into a precisely fitted product Outstanding craftsmanship, ability to fit all frame types, including Inline, High Wrap and Rimless frames to a very high standard as well as ability to hand edge, manually groove and trouble shoot low vision frame and lens solutions Be familiar with tools and techniques for specialised fitting incl frames made of natural materials like horn and wood, as well as rimless frames (eg Lindberg, Gotti) and wrap fit sunglasses Strong knowledge of optical products, lenses, and frames Excellent customer service and communication skills Attention to detail and a passion for helping others.
