The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day to day running of the kitchen and preparing food for our customers and for Birthday parties. You will help devise new methods of preparing food and menu items, as well as keeping track of stock levels, rotating stock and ensuring all food is delivered on time. You will also have good communication skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment, all whilst maintaining a safe and hygienic work space. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:- To provide first class customer service To ensure the PlayHut kitchen operates smoothly and to the best of its ability in a clean, safe and hygienic manner To communicate with party hosts, front of house staff & the Manager to ensure the smooth running of Birthday parties and/or functions. ALL TEAM MEMBERS ARE REQUIRED TO OPERATE WITHIN THE: To be reliable and punctual at all times To be available all weekends and some weekdays as needed. PlayHut policies, procedures, guidelines and standards Defined limits of delegated authority Relevant legislation, regulations and by-laws DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To maintain a clean kitchen as determined by the local councils WH&S and Food Safety requirements Prepares food orders to the specification of customers’ requests and party requirements Prepares party food to be ready to be served to guest on time Prepares Platters to be ready to be served at the same time as the party food Communicates with party hosts to give them a 10-minute warning that their party food will be ready. Notify the party host that their food needs to be taken out If free, assist the party hosts with cutting up their cake Make adjustments to food items to accommodate guests with allergies or specific diet concerns Manges and directs other Kitchen team members Acts as liaison to front of house employees to ensure proper food service temperature Checks stock levels daily by completing the stock levels list and forwarding a shopping list to the appropriate person for ordering approval Operates various kitchen appliances such as the blender, milkshake machine, sandwich press, deep fryer, oven, microwaves and dishwasher Assists other kitchen staff & party hosts during the food assembly process Devises new menu options for approval by the PlayHut Support Office Estimates expected food consumption & organises preparation Traying up all frozen party food in quantities needed for parties, the day before Keeps records accurate of food purchases Cleans up after business hours to maintain high standard Communicates with the Manager/Director about how to improve meal service Alters dishes based on consumer suggestions or requirements To attend regular staff meetings and trainings as required Operate the industrial dishwasher Wash, dry and put away all dishes and utensils Wipe down and sanitise all counter tops, microwaves, fridge doors and cool fridge Empty, clean and replace rubbish bags in all bins located in the kitchen Clean dish storage area and sinks Put all tea towels into the washing machine and hang them out to dry for the next day Follow sanitation policies at all times Perform opening, closing and side work Clean up spills or broken glassware immediately and using the slippery signage when needed To sweep and mop the kitchen leaving the kitchen meeting Food and safety standards Ensuring that fridge and freezer temp charts are kept up to date Turning on & off all equipment in the kitchen at the beginning and end of the day To have full knowledge of and to work within PlayHut’s WH&S guidelines To work shifts to cover the operating hours of the facility, this includes evenings and public holidays if required To carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the PlayHut Partner/Manager To ensure that we are fully stocked and equip for all bookings at PlayHut. And if we are not, to let the Manager know what is needed To be aware of current policies and procedures The top four performance indicators for this role are: 1.
