Medical Student Liaison Officer Learning & Development Permanent Part Time, up to 40 hours per fortnight Nurses & Midwives Enterprise Agreement, Educator (RN35) $62.93 p/h ____ An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Learning and Development Unit at West Gippsland Healthcare Group in the role of Medical Student Liaison Officer (MSLO). This is a permanent part-time position at 0.5 EFT. Reporting to the Learning and Development Manager, you will work within a motivated and dedicated team that provides support to the organisation over a wide range of education and development services, including but not limited to, in-service education, development and delivery of training programs, competency assessments, supervision of student placements and staff development education. We are seeking expressions of interest from motivated, experienced and enthusiastic people with a passion for learning and development to work collaboratively in providing high-quality learning opportunities, using a range of modalities that support and enable participants to practice as safe, confident and accountable professionals. The MSLO is responsible for the placement and training facilitation for all Medical students at West Gippsland Healthcare Group. Liaison with Clinical staff at WGHG and the Universities. They will work with the Senior Medical Staff responsible for the supervision and education to maximise and promote teaching and learning for this group. They need to be flexible, solutions-focused, committed to quality, willing to accept a challenge and enjoy working within a team that is dedicated to providing great service to their client group. Our preferred candidate will have: Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia At least 5 years of Post-qualification experience. Experience in Education within the healthcare setting Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint and Excel Strong communication skills, verbal and written, including a demonstrated customer service and problem-solving approach to dealing with colleagues and clients. The following experience/qualifications would be considered advantageous: Previous involvement with University Medical students Experience in Medical Education Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or relevant tertiary qualification in education Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team working towards a common objective. Demonstrated organisational ability including the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines. Demonstrated understanding of the principles of adult education and experience in developing a targeted educational program. IMPORTANT: Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.
