The Club maintains extensive grounds and landscaped areas surrounding its premises, including lawns, gardens, outdoor event spaces, and waterfront facilities used by members and guests. We are seeking a skilled and reliable Gardener (General) for a full-time permanent position to maintain and enhance the Club’s landscaped grounds and outdoor areas. The Role This is a full-time, ongoing permanent position responsible for the maintenance, development, and care of the Club’s gardens, lawns, and surrounding outdoor areas to ensure they remain safe, functional, and visually appealing. Key Responsibilities Preparing and maintaining garden beds and growing areas Planting and cultivating trees, shrubs, hedges, flowers, and lawn areas Laying turf and maintaining grassed areas Pruning trees, hedges, and ornamental plants Maintaining irrigation and reticulation systems Applying fertilisers and undertaking pest and weed control Operating gardening machinery and tools safely Ensuring all landscaped areas are maintained to a high standard for member and event use Complying with workplace health and safety requirements Essential Requirements Relevant qualification at Certificate III level (or higher) in Horticulture or related field; or At least three years of relevant gardening/grounds maintenance experience Experience maintaining commercial or community facility grounds Knowledge of irrigation systems and lawn care Ability to operate gardening equipment safely Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
