An exciting opportunity for a Sonographer is now available a within the Radiology Team at Nepean Hospital. As a Sonographer, you will provide high quality imaging that is patient focussed, according to the objectives and policies of Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District. You will be held personally accountable for your work and professional conduct and shall adhere to The Guidelines for Professional Conduct for Radiographers and Radiation Therapists as issued by the Australian Society of Medical Imaging and as outlined in the Statement of Practice by Sonographers as issued by the Australian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine. Your will provide a high level of proficiency and knowledge in ultrasound through the proven ability to competently perform a range of complex and routine clinical procedures and will participate in the development and review of protocols and techniques utilising reports, CPD activities and publications to maintain a high level of expertise in the relevant area. They will participate in the CPD program for MRS’s and sonographers and other health professionals as well as completing mandatory performance development and training as prescribed by the LHD. In this role, you will supervise and be responsible for other MRSs, undergraduates and trainees as required. They will assist with the assessment of clinical competence of trainee sonographers. A Degree in Medical Radiation Science in Diagnostic Radiography and a recognised sonography qualification 2. Registration with AHPRA as a Medical Radiation Practitioner. 3. I14 Radiation Licence from NSW EPA. 4. Registration with ASAR Demonstrated high level of knowledge and clinical expertise in Ultrasound with the ability to perform a full range of complex examinations Ability to supervise, instruct and mentor other MRS’ and undergraduates Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communications skills Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team Demonstrated understanding of Work Health and Safety and Infection Control in a sonography context Demonstrated ability to problem solve and manage time effectively in a clinical environment Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
