The Media and Marketing Section (MMS) sits within the Governance and Capability Service. The Governance and Capability Service contributes to SAPOL’s Vision, Goals and Objectives by providing a unified executive and policy support function to the Commissioner of Police and supporting effective engagement between SAPOL and the community. The Governance and Capability Service is responsible for the organisation’s strategic focus on critical aspects of service delivery and accountability to ensure the return on expenditure of public funds is justified. The Media and Marketing Section (MMS) has the responsibility for providing timely and accurate information to the media and community relative to SAPOL's operations (including road safety) and issues affecting community safety. The incumbent is responsible for: Provision of assistance to the Director of Media and Communications and Media Unit Operations Coordinator relating to the development of SAPOL media Analysis of media issues and their impact on SAPOL’s corporate image and Preparation and execution of media strategies. Provision of advice to the Executive Leadership Team (including Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner of Police), Director, Media Unit and other SAPOL staff on the media needs strategies and requirements about particular incidents or corporate issues. Liaising with SAPOL Districts, Regions and Branches to assist with the preparation and dissemination of proactive public information detailing police operations and Working at the Police Operations Centre or State Emergency Centre, providing advice on public information, in times of emergency. Working with State and National agencies providing advice on public information, in times of emergency, along with training to prepare for emergencies. Drafting letters, articles or media releases to address a broad range of Assisting the MU Operations Coordinator in the development and delivery of media training Special Conditions The incumbent must hold a current Australian work eligibility status and will be subject to a criminal history check. The incumbent may be assigned to other duties at this remuneration level or equivalent. Some out of hours work and intra/interstate travel may be required. The incumbent is required to participate in SAPOL’s iEngage program. Salary ASO8 - $121,107 - $125,679 per annum.
