About the Role We’re looking for a proactive People & Culture Manager to help shape a positive employee experience and ensure our HR processes are both compliant and efficient. In our fast-growing tech scale-up, we value hands-on management who can help build an inclusive, high-performance workplace. You’ll be responsible for advising managers, leading recruitment, maintaining compliance, and designing scalable people processes. You’ll be the primary contact for HR advice, recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and day-to-day People & Culture support. This position is initially offered on a part-time basis, with the expectation that it will transition to a full-time role as our business continues to expand. This approach provides flexibility while supporting the company’s growth trajectory and evolving needs. Key Responsibilities HR Manager & Employee Relations Deliver timely, accurate advice to managers and employees on HR policies, employment law, performance management, and best practice. Support leaders with performance management, including documentation and coaching. Stay up to date with the Fair Work Act, Modern Awards, WHS obligations, and other employment laws. Assist in resolving low-complexity employee relations issues, escalating as needed. Be the first point of contact for all People & Culture matters business-wide. Provide people-first, practical advice on policies, performance, and daily HR topics. Ensure ongoing compliance as our business scales. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition Manage end-to-end recruitment for both technical and non-technical roles, including job briefings, advertising, screening, interviewing, and reference checks. Work closely with hiring managers to identify workforce needs and develop sourcing strategies. Deliver a positive candidate experience from application through to offer. Onboarding & Offboarding Coordinate smooth, engaging onboarding experiences, including contract preparation, pre-employment checks and induction Ensure new starters feel welcomed and supported from day one. Manage offboarding processes, exit documentation, and access removal. Support cultural initiatives, team events, and engagement programs to make our workplace outstanding. Compliance & HR Administration Conduct and maintain compliance checks, including right-to-work and Veremark checks. Keep employee records accurate, confidential, and compliant with Australian privacy and employment regulations. Maintain HR systems and reporting Assist payroll with employee changes, and data accuracy. People & Culture Projects Contribute to developing and implementing HR frameworks, policies, and initiatives that support our culture and growth. Assist with employee engagement, training coordination, and internal communications. Help build scalable people processes and roll out new policies and performance frameworks. Identify opportunities to improve workflows and automate processes. About You You have a people-first mindset and are eligible for NV1 clearance, with full work rights in Australia. You have experience in a People & Culture, HR Manager, or similar role (preferably in tech or fast-paced settings), with strong knowledge of Australian employment law and HR best practice. You’re an effective communicator, relationship builder, and problem solver, who’s detail-oriented and passionate about employee experience.
