Our office in St Marys is currently seeking an Access Worker to join their team on a full-time temporary basis. In this dynamic role, you will play a vital part in supporting access arrangements for children, young people, their parents and carers. Accountable to the Business Manager, you will undertake a diverse range of responsibilities that directly support children in need. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Plan and facilitate arrangements for access to occur, including transporting children and young people to and from destinations. Learn about other cultures to better establish relationships and improve services for Aboriginal people and people from CALD backgrounds. Organise and facilitate activities for children and young people during access visits, whilst ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times. Administer cooperative behaviour by monitoring, responding to challenging behaviours and using strategies to diffuse conflict. To be successful in this role, you will have: Experience in relating with vulnerable children and young people to understand current issues and achieve quality outcomes. Sound communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Knowledge and commitment to promoting and creating a safe and inclusive work environment. Expertise in managing workloads, organising and planning work activities, whilst taking into account the need to prioritise tasks and responsibilities.
