We are looking for a Junior Accountant to join our team. We are a small boutique firm located in Tuggeranong. With over thirty years in the industry, we have a wealth of experience to teach and train our next up and coming Accountant. Our Junior Accountant will be responsible for assisting our Senior Accountants in managing, processing and troubleshooting various accounts and transactions. We are looking for someone who has experience in the field and looking to grow their career to the next level. We are looking for a Junior Accountant who possesses the following skills and qualifications for this role: Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations. Including strong analytical skills to be able to review and interpret financial data, detect errors and ensure compliance with the accounting standards. Experience in using software such as Microsoft and also accounting software for efficient data input and management. A degree in accounting (or similar) with at least a 1-2 years' experience through internships, part time or full-time roles in accounting, bookkeeping or financial analysis. Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) to be able to interact with clients, colleagues and the ability to work as part of a team. Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines and have problem solving skills. The ability to work in a range of roles to support other colleagues and the team. Enjoying helping people and being committed to delivering a high level of service to our clients. Duties and Responsibilities: Performing day-to-day bookkeeping functions Assisting Senior accountants with tax returns, audits, financial statements, BAS statements and other accounting projects. Working with bookkeeping software, online spreadsheets, accounting software and databases. Ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end closing procedures. Being able to work as part of the accounting team, taking on different roles to support the company and the clients. Having great communication skills to be able to speak to clients and colleagues. This will include a back-up role assisting the receptionist with phone calls and greeting clients. Handling sensitive and confidential information with honesty and respect. Passion to learn and further your skills through mentorship and training. This role requires you to maintain accuracy in all tasks, time management skills, and being able to assists in multiple areas of the firm. This role includes a base salary (which would be reviewed after the probation period of three months), super, and an undercover carpark. A uniform is also supplied once the probation period has been renewed. Our firm believes that increasing our knowledge and training is essential. We also support our staff if they would like to further their knowledge through the CPA or CA program.
