The Opportunity We are seeking a technically capable, and highly organised Analytical Instrumentation & Calibration Analyst to join our Analytical Services team. This is a critical full-time role supporting both our Contract Analytical Services laboratory and Quality Control laboratory and represents an opportunity for a motivated professional to take ownership of the laboratory instrumentation calibration and maintenance program, ensuring the reliability of systems that support pharmaceutical development and quality control testing. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in laboratory instrumentation, calibration, or analytical equipment support who enjoys hands-on technical work and solving instrumentation problems, as well as day to day laboratory organisation. Reporting directly to the Analytical Services Manager, you will act as the subject matter expert for laboratory instrumentation calibration and maintenance, ensuring equipment used in the development and testing of pharmaceutical products remains accurate, reliable and compliant with regulatory requirements. You will coordinate calibration activities, support equipment qualification, troubleshoot instrumentation issues and work closely with internal teams and external service providers to maintain laboratory operations. This role combines technical instrumentation expertise with hands-on laboratory operational support including consumables management and maintenance of the laboratory. You will have demonstrated experience or have an understanding of: Act as the subject matter expert for laboratory instrumentation calibration, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting across multiple laboratories. Schedule and perform calibration and preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment in accordance with quality standards and cGMP requirements Support instrumentation including HPLC, GC, spectroscopic and general laboratory equipment Coordinate external calibration providers and equipment service engineers Maintain calibration records and equipment documentation to ensure regulatory compliance and traceability Support equipment lifecycle management, including installation, qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) and decommissioning Investigate and troubleshoot instrument performance issues and coordinate repairs Monitor equipment performance trends and implement improvements to enhance reliability Maintain laboratory consumables, chemicals and glassware required to support laboratory activities Provide technical guidance and training to laboratory staff on correct instrument operation Support GMP compliance activities, including audits and inspections Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency and reliability Provide support to analytical testing activities when required Maintain a clean, organised and compliant laboratory environment You need to tick these boxes We pick applicants based on capability and aptitude.
