Sydney Banking - Corporate & Institutional Permanent We have partnered with a leading Australian Institutional Equities platform to appoint an Institutional Equity Sales at a VP or AVP-level focused on the Metals & Mining and Natural Resources equity sectors. This is a genuine revenue seat. This opportunity is best suited for an established institutional salesperson or resources-focused analyst looking to step into a commercially leveraged distribution position within a high-performing, sector-specialist franchise. The platform is deeply embedded in the Australian resources ecosystem, with integrated Corporate Advisory, ECM, Research and Institutional Sales capabilities. You will be joining a firm with strong origination capability, respected sector research and a growing East Coast institutional footprint. The Opportunity: This Sydney-based role will focus primarily on domestic institutional equity accounts, with selective engagement across North American and European resource-focused funds seeking Australian coverage. You will be responsible for originating, expanding and monetising institutional relationships across long-only and alternative funds, driving commission revenue across cash equities and supporting capital markets transactions including placements and block trades. This is not a junior support role. It is a senior, revenue-accountable position with clear expectations around production, wallet share growth and institutional coverage depth. Key Responsibilities: Originate, develop and monetise domestic institutional relationships across Metals & Mining equities Drive commission revenue across cash equities and support ECM activity Execute structured account coverage plans with defined revenue objectives Distribute differentiated sector research and investment ideas Provide real-time investor feedback to Research, ECM and Corporate Advisory teams Support capital raisings, institutional roadshows and strategic investor engagement Expand the firm’s Sydney institutional footprint in line with broader growth strategy Candidate Profile: We are seeking a high-calibre professional with: 5–10 years’ experience in Institutional Sales covering Resources, or A Metals & Mining Equity Analyst background with strong institutional client interaction and commercial instincts You will demonstrate: Established domestic institutional relationships A proven commission production track record Strong understanding of ASX-listed resources companies and global commodity dynamics Confidence engaging senior portfolio managers and investment decision-makers A disciplined, revenue-accountable mindset This role is best suited to someone who already has institutional connectivity and wants greater leverage, platform strength and earning capacity.
