Overview of the team The Legal Practice Management Team provides practice management services and supports the Legal Group in the delivery of quality legal services with a focus on continuous improvement. The team develops and implements governance frameworks, monitors risk, and coordinates input to reports and briefs to support Comcare in meeting its internal and external reporting obligations. The team are responsible for engaging external Legal Services Providers (LSP) on behalf of Comcare and the team supports the Director, Legal Practice Management to allocate matters and monitor LSP performance. Overview of the role As a Practice Support Officer, you will support the Assistant Directors and Director, Legal Practice Management to implement and embed cross-Group projects and initiatives delivered under Comcare's ITC and enabling strategies, including building capability across the Legal Group in the use of new systems and platforms delivered through these projects and initiatives. You will be responsible for identifying improvement opportunities across the Legal Group and leading the discovery, scoping and implementation of initiatives that strengthen governance, efficiency and service delivery. This includes contributing to the development and review of policies, procedures and guidance material and supporting the development of team objectives for short-term task, work plans and strategic priorities. Strong stakeholder engagement is essential. As a Practice Support Officer, you will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to understand business needs, gather insights, manage expectations and support the adoption of new processes and systems. This role requires sound judgement, discretion and confidentiality in the management of sensitive information. In this role your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following: supporting the implementation of Comcare frameworks and enabling strategies, particularly projects and initiatives delivered under Comcare’s ICT, digital and data-related enabling strategies and other Comcare Strategic Roadmap initiatives. building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders; and engaging proactively to understand business needs, gather insights, communicate clearly, and support effective adoption of new processes and systems. under limited direction, perform administrative, analytical and project management activities, including: end to end management and delivery of assigned tasks, actions and project components. leading or contributing to discovery, scoping and implementation of business improvement and change initiatives across the Legal Group. developing and embedding change management, training and capability building activities for new systems, processes and platforms. contributing to the development, review and implementation of policies, procedures, guidance materials and other governance documentation. identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and contributing to innovative solutions that enhance governance, efficiency and service delivery across the Legal Group. provision of high quality executive support to the Assistant Directors and Director, Legal Practice Management, including preparation of key governance-related briefs and correspondence, administration of coordination tasks and supporting effective decision making. Experience Mandatory: Demonstrated experience in providing administrative support, technical and skills training and strong stakeholder engagement. Desirable: Knowledge and experience supporting project management implementation. Eligibility and specific conditions of employment Australian citizenship. Character clearance (Australian Criminal History Check). Employee health declaration. Six months probationary period for new engagements.
