About Us Trivantage Manufacturing is a National leading manufacturer of packaged electrical solutions including premium quality switchboards, kiosk substations and switch rooms, covering low to high-voltage capabilities across the infrastructure, resource, and commercial sectors. Due to organic growth, we are looking to take on electrical fitters and Trade Assistants. These are permanent positions 38 hours per week Monday to Friday with the opportunity for overtime and immediate start. The Role: As an Electrical Fitter, you will play a crucial role in our electrical switchboard and enclosure installations. The electrical fitter works installs, modifies, maintains and repairs electronic instruments and control systems on a range electrical switchboards and enclosures. The candidate shall have the ability read and understand general arrangement drawings to and have the practical skills to cut, punch, bend and install copper busbar; install bus bar supports, install cabling and equipment support accessories (din rail, duct, conduit, cable tray), correctly identify equipment to be installed, carry out control cable crimping, looming, terminating, point to point wiring and power cable connections, all in accordance with drawings, specifications, regulations, and applicable standards. Skills and tasks required are as listed below: • Must Hold a Certificate III in Instrument and Controls or Equivalent. • Minimum of 3 Years of Work experience. • Examining and testing machines, equipment, instruments and control systems to diagnose faults • Adjusting, repairing, and replacing worn and defective parts and wiring, and maintaining machines, equipment and instruments • Reassembling, test operating and adjusting equipment • Advising users of correct operating procedures to prevent malfunctions • Installing electronic instruments and control systems • Update of electrical drawings and reference materials • Applying knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic principles in commissioning and maintaining control systems • Altering of switchboard enclosure gear panels, doors, segregations, and penetrations, cutting, punching, and drilling holes for wiring accessories and equipment mounting as required on general arrangement drawings. • Safe installation of heavy high voltage switchgear and low voltage switchgear - Air Circuit Breakers (ACBs) and Motor Control Circuit Breakers (MCCBs) of various sizes in switchboards and enclosures. • Manufacturing and installation of copper bus bar support systems up to 6000A following previously verified and tested assemblies’ distances, clearances and creepages. • Manufacturing (cuts, punches, bends) copper bus bars in various sizes from 20x6.3x4000mm to 200x10x4000mm and installation within switchboards by following previously verified and tested assemblies copper size, number of bars per phase and clearances and creepages. • Tightening and checking of copper to copper, and copper to equipment connections to required torque setting using a torque wrench. • Installing all types of commonly used wiring along with wiring accessories and electrical components – Electronic Equipment, miniature circuit breakers (MCB), isolators, current transformers, multi-function meters, control relays, PLC, terminals, power supplies, voltage transformers, motor starters, contactors and overloads, pilot lights, push buttons, selector switches, timers, terminals, din rail, duct as per general layout drawings. • Cable crimping and termination, point to point electrical wiring, loom and harness wiring, occasional soldering as per electrical schematic drawings. • Must be able to read engineering drawings and schematics and understand commonly used electrical wiring symbols. • Using test equipment and measuring instruments to test, locate and repair faults in switchboards in an electrical installation. • Follow company health and safety policies and safe work method statements whilst being able to work with team of 30 fitters.
