Step out of public practice and join a leading healthcare organisation Your new company An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Financial Accountant to join a highly reputable organisation within the healthcare/medical sector. This is an initial 12‑month fixed‑term contract with genuine potential for extension, offering exposure to complex accounting, commercial operations, and senior stakeholder groups. This role is ideally suited to a first mover transitioning out of Big 4 or mid‑tier audit, tax or business services, looking to build commercial experience in a dynamic environment. Your new role Working closely with the Finance Manager and broader finance team, you will contribute to high‑quality financial reporting, statutory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key responsibilities include: Financial & Statutory Reporting Prepare month‑end financial reports, journals and general ledger reconciliations Assist with Board reporting and performance analysis Support the preparation of annual financial statements and external audit processes Deliver cash flow reporting and forecasting Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register Tax & Compliance Assist in compliance across income tax, BAS, FBT and payroll tax Ensure internal controls and compliance processes are upheld Commercial & Operational Support Prepare profit‑sharing calculations for distribution Support budgeting processes and ad‑hoc financial analysis Provide user support and input into accounting system enhancements Review purchase orders, pricing updates and stock master‑file maintenance Projects & Continuous Improvement Research and assist with accounting treatment for complex business issues (e.g., acquisitions, new standards etc.) Drive improvements in systems, processes and reporting efficiency What you'll need to succeed Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance or Commerce CA or CPA qualified (or near completion) Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyse complex data Experience gained in a professional accounting firm (audit, tax or business advisory, especially Big4) is highly regarded Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across diverse stakeholder groups Strong organisational capability with the ability to manage competing deadlines Self‑motivated, proactive and committed to accuracy and quality What you'll get in return Opportunity to transition from public practice into industry Work within a respected, stable and supportive organisation Exposure to complex accounting, commercial decision‑making and senior stakeholders Flexibility such as working from home and flexible start/finish times Contract role with strong possibility of extension Great culture, team and benefits What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV to Breanna Elezovich.
