12 Month contract as a senior, business‑facing data governance specialist within Rio Tinto’s Modern ERP program Focused on embedding capability, ownership and sustainable data governance across the business High‑impact role partnering with Global Process Owners (GPOs) during a major ERP transformation About the Role We are seeking a Senior Specialist – Data Governance to play a critical role in embedding practical, value‑driven data governance across Rio Tinto’s Modern ERP program. The role sits firmly on the business side of Rio Tinto, working closely with Global Process Owners and business teams to build capability, uplift confidence and ensure data governance is adopted and owned by the business. The System Integrator (SI) resources support aspects of delivery execution, including migration activities. This role complements that work by focusing on business ownership, sustainability, and long‑term capability uplift. Key Responsibilities As the Senior Specialist – Data Governance, you will: Partner with Global Process Owners (GPOs) to embed data governance across their domains Upskill data stewards and operational teams to take ownership of data risks and quality Translate enterprise governance principles into practical, adoptable approaches Support identification and management of data risks, training needs and remediation priorities Work closely with the leader and other senior stakeholders to drive alignment through workshops and engagement Enable governance that supports cost savings, value delivery and better decision‑making Operate across multiple domains, supporting SAP‑enabled business processes and data flows About You You will bring: Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills A practical understanding of business data and how it is used day‑to‑day Experience in data-based roles, i.e. Report writing, data engineering or other such data role Experience working within SAP or ERP environments, particularly how data flows through systems Ability to balance governance, value and usability Comfort operating in complex environments and bringing clarity, structure and momentum Relevant domain exposure includes: SAP and enterprise business data Asset management and processing Finance Mining operations People / workforce data HSESC (Health, Safety, Environment, Security & Communities) What We Offer Attractive compensation that is aligned to the specialist nature and impact of the role.
