New Horizons for Health Medical is a beautiful purpose-built practice established over 25yrs ago and is a locally reputable and busy practice situated in the tropical Far North QLD town of Port Douglas. Port Douglas is a relaxed seaside village situated in the middle of the World Heritage-Listed Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest. Surrounded by nature, it is the perfect place for laid back coastal living. Douglas Shire is home to approximately 13,000 residents, and in our peak season, May to September, Port Douglas caters to around 700,000 visitors when it grows cold in the South and turns FNQ into the perfect warm and sunny holiday destination. Our QPA accredited bulk billing practice is built within a peaceful setting with winding timber decks that lead you through our beautifully manicured tropical gardens to separate private pavilion offices. New Horizons was designed to give our patients the feeling of peace and relaxation in nature. Our practice is extremely unique and staffed with two long-term doctors that specialize in many areas that use both conventional and complimentary medicines benefiting our patients in this diverse community. We have GP's practicing in Japanese Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, Nutrition, Gut Health & Allergies, Medicinal Cannabis, Skin Cancers & Minor Procedures. We are also extremely fortunate to have a Nurse Practitioner/Midwife, an RN and Medical Assistant who supports the surgery extensively. Our administration staff consists of a full time Practice Manager who has supported us for 15years with 2 experienced long-term receptionists that keep our day well managed whilst keeping our GPs busy and well looked after throughout the day. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated General Practitioner to join our team in our vibrant coastal town and are extremely flexible and offer a full-time/part-time role with a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the health and wellbeing of our local community. Hours and rates are certainly open for discussion with the right candidate. What we're looking for: ï· Fully registered and qualified General Practitioner. (We do not have the capability to have GPs with Supervision requirements sorry). ï· Strong clinical skills and a commitment to evidence-based, patient-centred care ï· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to build trust and rapport with patients ï· Proficiency in utilising electronic medical record systems and technology to support efficient and effective patient care ï· A genuine passion for community health and a desire to make a positive difference in the lives of our patients ï· A willingness to work alongside our GPs with their experience in a more complimentary way of practice.
