The role The Project Officer focuses on delivering and supporting Organisational Development and Culture projects and initiatives that help drive meaningful outcomes across the department. This includes contributing to leadership development initiatives that build capability, strengthen leadership behaviours, and support a positive and high-performing leadership culture. It involves planning, coordinating and documenting project work, analysing information to spot risks and opportunities, and communicating clearly with stakeholders to keep projects moving smoothly and meeting expected outcomes. Day to day, the role juggles shifting priorities, tight deadlines and the need to collaborate with people who often have competing interests. It requires building strong relationships, finding practical and sometimes creative solutions to complex or sensitive issues, and keeping information accurate, accessible and up to date so stakeholders have what they need to make informed decisions. In supporting leadership development, the role helps create environments where leaders can engage, learn and collaborate meaningfully, while also ensuring leadership programs, tools and resources are aligned with organisational priorities and the evolving needs of leaders across the department. Confidence in reviewing and analysing data, identifying risks or issues early, and developing practical, evidence‑based solutions. Clear and adaptable communication skills, able to translate complex information and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders. A collaborative approach, building productive relationships across teams and working groups to support smooth project delivery. The ability to stay organised and focused in a fast‑paced environment, managing competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and quality. What is an essential requirement: Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and/or demonstrated equivalent experience in project management/coordination, project reporting and project best practice design and implementation.
