Your responsibilities will include: Play a key role in safeguarding the airworthiness of one of the ADF’s most operationally critical rotary-wing platforms, the UH-60M Black Hawk . As part of our expanding aviation engineering capability, this position offers a genuine opportunity to operate with technical authority while progressing toward a recognised Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) appointment. You will independently verify engineering compliance, guide certification activities and support teams delivering safe, mission-ready aircraft. This role is well suited to an engineer who holds, or is close to holding, the experience and qualifications required for CVE appointment and is ready to take the next step in their professional growth. Key Responsibilities: Independently verify compliance evidence across designs, analyses, manuals and test activities Approve technical manual changes requiring DASA endorsement Provide authoritative engineering advice across aircraft structures, systems and certification matters Support certification activities through oversight, dependent checking and quality assurance Mentor and guide engineers in airworthiness, certification and structural fundamentals Manage competing priorities within a complex Defence engineering environment Contribute to robust configuration baselines and high-quality engineering artefacts About you: You are a confident aerospace, structural or design engineer with strong airworthiness or Part 21J knowledge. You value technical rigour, safety and compliance and you enjoy helping others grow while tackling complex engineering challenges. Essential: Bachelor of Engineering (AQF Level 7 or equivalent). Aeronautical design experience with structural expertise Airworthiness, certification or DASR Part 21J experience Experience reviewing engineering artefacts for compliance Strong knowledge of aircraft systems and configuration management Ability to balance priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes Understanding of aircraft system safety in complex environments Capability to mentor and support junior engineers Holds, or is close to holding, CVE-level qualifications and experience Highly desirable: Experience in dependent checking or compliance verification (Defence or civil DOA) Exposure to Army or rotary-wing certification programs Structural integrity or stress analysis experience Why join us?
