About the role: We’re looking for a Senior Salesforce Application Engineer to help develop, maintain and enhance our Salesforce CRM and Marketing Cloud platforms within a complex, integrated environment. This role focuses on building and supporting integrations between Salesforce and our Student Management System (Banner) using Informatica, along with a range of other connected systems across the business. You’ll bring strong Salesforce development experience, a solid understanding of CRM and marketing automation, and a hands-on approach to coding, configuration and troubleshooting. Working closely with teams across the organisation, you’ll play a key role in delivering practical, scalable and high-quality solutions that support business outcomes and help us get more value from the platforms we already have. Key accountabilities (but not limited to): Salesforce development & customisation : Design, build and enhance Salesforce CRM and Marketing Cloud solutions using Apex, Lightning (Aura & LWC) and configuration best practice. Integrations & connected systems: Deliver and support robust integrations between Salesforce, Banner and other enterprise systems using APIs and integration platforms (including Informatica). Marketing Cloud & AI enablement: Lead development and optimisation across Marketing Cloud (Journeys, Automation Studio, Contact Builder), while identifying practical opportunities to incorporate AI where it adds value. Hands-on technical leadership: Troubleshoot complex issues, perform root-cause analysis, and continuously improve performance, scalability and reliability across the Salesforce ecosystem. Collaboration & solution design: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, translate them into technical solutions, and deliver outcomes that are fit-for-purpose and future-ready. Who you are: You’re a senior Salesforce engineer who is deeply technical, commercially minded, and hands-on by nature. You’ll bring: Proven experience as a Salesforce Developer / Senior Application Engineer, with strong, real-world coding capability Expert-level knowledge of Apex, Lightning (Aura & LWC), Salesforce configuration and development best practices Strong Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience, including Journeys, Automation Studio, Contact Builder and campaign optimisation Demonstrated experience delivering complex Salesforce integrations, ideally across enterprise environments Solid understanding of CRM, marketing automation and data flows across connected systems Confidence advising on best practice, optimisation and AI use cases, not just building what’s asked The ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and work collaboratively across teams Formal Salesforce certifications (Platform Developer, Marketing Cloud) are highly regarded, but your depth of hands-on capability and problem-solving mindset matter most.
