Recruitment Labs is seeking Expressions of Interest from Mine Accountants and site-based finance professionals for upcoming opportunities across: NSW: Upper Hunter Valley (residential roles – relocation support available within Australia) QLD: Bowen Basin / Mackay Surrounds (camp sites – DIDO and FIFO options) These roles are based at operational production sites (Tier 1 and Tier 2 operators) and support core commercial outcomes across cost, performance, forecasting, controls, and decision support. What’s On Offer: Location: NSW: Upper Hunter Valley (residential – relocation supported) QLD: Bowen Basin / near Mackay (DIDO FIFO, camp-based) Industry: Mining (mainly coal production sites - Above Ground Underground Mines) Salary Guide: Approximately $150,000 to $200,000 package (excluding bonuses), depending on level and site requirements Non-negotiable: Production-site experience in mining is strongly preferred (heavy industry considered where highly relevant) Typical Role Profile: Reporting into (or partnering closely with) the Commercial Manager / Site leadership, these roles go beyond “month-end” and into real operational influence. Depending on the level, responsibilities may include: Month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis Cost control, variance analysis and operational decision support Capex reporting, asset register maintenance and governance Reforecasting, modelling and scenario planning Financial controls, process improvement and reporting enhancements Supporting site operations and head office with timely, accurate insight Ideal Candidate Profile: CA / CPA / CIMA qualified (or close to completion with strong experience) Typically 3–5 years in mining or heavy industry within site-based roles Confident communicator who can partner with operations (not just finance) Hands-on, resilient and practical—comfortable in a site environment Commercially minded with a bias for improvement and better ways of working Strong with data interpretation and turning it into clear, usable insight Ideal Candidate Profile: If you’re open to hearing about upcoming Mine Accountant / site finance opportunities in the Upper Hunter or Bowen Basin, send through your CV (a cover note is optional).
