Position: Motor Mechanic Position Type : Full-Time Salary: $76,000 to $79,000 plus superannuation per annum Location: Truganina VIC 3029 Our client is seeking a skilled Motor Mechanic to join their workshop located in Truganina, Victoria. Key Duties and Responsibilities: ·Keep equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles; completing preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters. ·Maintain vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components; repairing damage. ·Verify vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems. ·Comply with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards. ·Maintain vehicle appearance by cleaning and washing. ·Maintain vehicle records by recording service and repairs. ·Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs. ·Contain costs by using manufacturer's warranties; evaluating service and parts options. ·Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt. ·Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical publications ·Compulsory attendance to training events. ·Accomplish maintenance and organisation mission by completing related results as needed. ·Train and support floor staff in our systems and procedures ·Be responsible for Apprentice Training & Conduct Training within the organisation ·Oversee quality of work within workshop ·Delegate works & work orders for the day and manage floor staff ·Follow and enforce store policies and systems ·Follow Worksafe procedures, Maintain Safety and ensure staff follow safety procedures ·Motivate and lead the floor team by way of strong leadership. Requirements: ·Certificate IV in Automotive Technology ·At least 12 months of relevant experience as a Motor Mechanic ·Valid Australian driver’s licence ·Strong understanding of workplace health and safety (WHS) regulations and compliance ·Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise multiple tasks ·Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills ·Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship ·Good communication skills and ability to liaise with customers and team members ·Ability to work independently and as part of a team ·Physically fit and capable of performing manual handling tasks ·Reliable, punctual and professional work ethic.
