With over 430 freight and passenger trains moving daily across five states, ARTC manages 8,500km of track, 39 worksites, and partners with over 50 First Nations communities. As a Rail Supervisor, you will lead ARTC’s Heavy Plant operations within a newly established team expanding ARTC’s internal capability, including oversight of mechanised Rail Rake operations across the network. This role suits a strong operational leader who thrives in high-output, safety-critical environments. What you’ll be doing · Lead daily heavy plant operations with a strong emphasis on Rail Rake delivery and recovery. · Support resurfacing, ballast regulation and other rail-bound plant activities. · Plan worksites, conduct inspections, and manage operational risks. · Manage people, equipment, fuel, spares, and resources. · Ensure safe, compliant worksite operations including track-access requirements. · Report on progress, issues, and operational performance. What we’re looking for · Strong experience leading operational teams in rail, plant, or high-production environments. · Rail track inspection or certification experience · Ability to plan, prioritise and manage complex site activities. · Strong WHS knowledge and ability to lead safety outcomes. · Excellent communication, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
