Our Mount Magnet Mining (MMG) operations include multiple open pit, underground, and satellite sites with a projected 17-year mine life. Active areas include Galaxy underground, Cue open pit, and Penny underground, with further expansion and exploration underway. The Role As Safety and Emergency Officer your key focus will be to ensure emergency preparedness and training, as well as to provide medical care to the site’s operations. You will contribute to the wider Health & Safety team by supporting site safety activities such as field interactions and investigations where required. Your responsibilities will include: Conduct emergency response drills, training sessions and preparedness activities across site teams Manage the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and First Aid Response Maintain emergency equipment, vehicles and facilities to required operational standards. Provide first aid support in line with qualifications and poison permit Support incident management, including initial response, scene control and communication with key personnel Assist with injury management and workers compensation processes Contribute to emergency planning, documentation and continuous improvement of response capability Assist with hazard identification, risk assessments and safety inspections across work areas Monitor and report safety hazards, unsafe conditions and near misses to improve site safety performance About You You bring a calm, capable presence to high‑pressure situations, with a strong teamwork focus and clear and inclusive communication skills. You’re proactive, disciplined and committed to supporting strong emergency response, medical care and site safety performance. You bring: Certificate IV in Health Care or equivalent pre-hospital care qualification Certificate III in Emergency Response & Rescue including BG4 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (preferred) Strong understanding of site emergency procedures, risk management and incident response protocols Experience in a similar role within underground mining Familiarity with INX systems — InControl, InFlight, and Intuition (preferred) Strong computer literacy and written communication skills Ability to communicate clearly and confidently with personnel at all levels — from frontline teams to senior leaders A current WA C Class Manual Driver’s Licence and the ability to obtain a valid National Police Clearance What we offer: 8:6 roster FIFO from Perth or BIBO from Geraldton Initial 6-month Maximum term position with extensions possible Competitive salary Annual bonus and long-term reward programme Private health insurance reimbursement Career progression opportunities to support your growth ASX100 business with demonstrated success and sustainable growth strategy Next Steps We can’t wait to hear from you!
