Health, Science and Community, Vocational Education Full-time, ongoing position at our Hawthorn campus T2 – T3.5 salary (depending on qualifications and experience) 17% super About the Role Swinburne’s Health, Science and Community Services department is seeking a VET - Community Services Teacher to join the team to deliver high-quality vocational education and training programs. The role of a Swinburne Vocational Education (VE) Teacher is to share their experience and knowledge with students and encourage our students to successfully obtain their qualifications. You will work within a passionate team of education professionals to plan deliver, assess, evaluate and ensure compliance of high-quality education and training programs. This role requires that you can customise and adapt our programs to meet our learners and clients’ needs that vary from certificate level through to diploma and associate degree levels. For this role, we are seeking Teachers with Vocational experience in community services preferably in the following areas: Mental Health Alcohol and/or Other Drugs Counselling with a counselling qualification Family Violence Join our dynamic team at Swinburne Vocational Education and Training (VET) and become a key player in shaping the future of education for the 21st century. About You To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: Vocational experience relevant to the community services sector. Demonstrated ability to implement high quality innovative teaching and learning programs in a variety of learning modes which respond to a diverse range of student learning needs. Demonstrated experience or the capacity to develop and conduct training programs directed to the needs of industry and the community is preferred. Demonstrated experience or the capacity to develop learning and assessment resources. Demonstrated awareness and understanding of Vocational Education and Training policies and frameworks. Qualifications Relevant degree or vocational qualification in community services or related field. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) OR Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) OR Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) OR Diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education A secondary teaching qualification which is a credential issued by a higher education provider (as defined in section 5 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011) which would enable the individual to satisfy the academic requirements for registration as a secondary school teacher in accordance with the registration requirements in at least one State or Territory, and one of the following: TAESS00011 Assessor Skill Set or TAESS00019 Assessor Skill Set or its successor, OR TAESS00024 VET Delivered to School Students Teacher Enhancement Skill Set About Swinburne University of Technology Swinburne’s strategy draws upon our understanding of future challenges.
