About the organisation Our client is a large, for-profit services organisation operating nationally is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead finance operations through a period of stabilisation, systems uplift and capability building. This role is well suited to a proven Financial Controller who enjoys restoring rigour, building strong teams and partnering with leaders to lift financial literacy and decision-making across the business. The role Reporting to the CFO and sitting within the senior management group, you will take ownership of core financial control while leading a sizeable and evolving finance function across multiple states. The primary mandate over the next 12–24 months is to maintain integrity and control, embed consistent processes nationally, and strengthen the finance team as a trusted commercial partner. The role will have 3 direct reports, with responsibility for a team of 8 across AP, AR and management accounting. In the future there is potential for the role to take on additional responsibilities across payroll and the wider commercial team. Key responsibilities include: Ownership of month-end close, statutory reporting and compliance. Ensuring balance sheet integrity and robust financial controls. Leading systems and process improvement initiatives within a NetSuite environment. Driving consistency across disparate state-based finance processes. Oversight of AP, AR and accounting teams, with scope to integrate payroll and commercial functions over time. Developing, mentoring and stabilising a finance team that has experienced significant change. Supporting the broader business in building financial literacy and confidence in the numbers. Managing external relationships including auditors, bankers, shareholders and regulators. Preparing and delivering regular reporting to the CFO and senior leadership, with future exposure to Finance & Audit Committee forums. What we’re looking for You’ll be a confident, hands-on Financial Controller who can balance control with collaboration. Ideally, you’ll bring: CA or CPA qualification (mandatory) Demonstrated experience in a Financial Controller role within a complex, multi-site organisation. Strong statutory compliance and tax experience. Exposure to NetSuite or comparable tier-one ERPs. A corporate background ideally within healthcare The ability to lead through change and stabilise teams. A leadership style that is collaborative, mentor-led, and lead-by-example — firm but fair.
