Job Description Create your best future and join Westpac as a Team Manager – Government Notices Unit What’s the role? As a Team Manager within Financial Crime Surveillance, you’ll lead a multi‑brand team in the Government Notices Unit (GNU), responsible for responding to complex requests from regulators and law enforcement agencies. You’ll balance people leadership with hands‑on delivery, ensuring accurate, timely assessment and investigation of anti‑money laundering (AML), counter‑terrorism financing (CTF), sanctions, and government notice matters. The role supports responses to notices from bodies such as AUSTRAC, ASIC, crime and corruption commissions, and urgent law enforcement requests, including freezing orders, proceeds of crime matters, missing persons, and imminent threats to life. You’ll deliver outcomes safely by maintaining strong controls and legislative compliance, own operational performance through effective workforce and process management, and make an impact by driving continuous improvement across both onshore and offshore teams. This is a permanent fulltime role based in Adelaide and Sydney with flexible working arrangements. What do I need? Strong subject matter expertise in Anti‑Money Laundering (AML), Counter‑Terrorism Financing (CTF) and sanctions Proven people leadership experience, including coaching, performance management and escalation handling Solid analytical and investigative capability in regulated, high‑volume environments Strong understanding of compliance, risk management frameworks and legislative requirements Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with sound judgement Confident stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including with internal teams and external agencies Why join us?
