Core Responsibilities Lead and support process optimisation initiatives across cable manufacturing lines to improve safety, quality, productivity and cost efficiency. Analyse production performance data to identify trends, bottlenecks and improvement opportunities. Develop, trial and validate machine settings, tooling requirements and material parameters for stable and capable processes. Plan and execute Design of Experiments (DOE) and structured root‑cause investigations to resolve recurring process issues. Collaborate with Production, Quality and R&D teams to introduce new products, materials and equipment into manufacturing. Prepare and maintain process documentation , including SOPs, Work Instructions, OPLs and control plans. Support equipment capability studies, commissioning activities and continuous improvement projects (e.g., scrap reduction, energy optimisation). Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, quality systems and safety requirements . Provide technical support to operators and supervisors, including on‑the‑floor troubleshooting and training. Skills & Competencies Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret technical and statistical data. Effective communication skills with the ability to work cross‑functionally. Hands‑on, practical mindset with strong attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with statistical tools (e.g., Minitab) is advantageous. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively. Understanding of manufacturing processes, continuous improvement and lean methodologies. CAD experience (e.g., AutoCAD) desirable but not required. Knowledge of cable manufacturing, materials or telecom/power cable standards is beneficial. Experience 2–5 years in a similar engineering role within manufacturing, process engineering or industrial operations (cable industry preferred but not essential). Qualifications Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Chemical, Materials or related Engineering discipline.
