Senior Mining Engineer – Mine Design, Planning & Drill & Blast We are seeking a proactive and strategic Senior Mining Engineer to join our clients Technical Services team. The ideal candidate will be both hands-on and forward-thinking, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization. About the Role As a senior member of the Technical Services team, you will be responsible for: Developing and maintaining mine design, planning, and drill & blast standards and procedures for our clients underground operations. Preparing and delivering short-, medium-, and long-term mine plans that support production targets and life-of-mine objectives. Creating and reviewing drill & blast designs, stope layouts, and development plans to ensure compliance with safety, production, and design requirements. Completing stope reconciliations, analysing performance data, and identifying improvement opportunities. Working closely with operational teams to ensure mine plans are practical, achievable, and executed safely. Contributing to weekly, monthly, and quarterly scheduling to ensure alignment with broader strategic planning. Demonstrating strong safety leadership and promoting continuous improvement across technical disciplines. Key Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering (or equivalent). Minimum 5 years’ underground mining experience in a technical services role. Extensive experience in mine design, planning, and drill & blast within a mechanized underground environment. Proficiency in Deswik software and strong general computer literacy. Current manual driver’s licence. First Aid certificate and Dangerous Goods Security Card (DGSC). Experience working within contractor or owner-operator mining environments. Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced development and production teams. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build productive cross-department relationships.
