Located in the western suburbs, this is a massive, brand-new player in the Cosmetics and Life Sciences space. This pivotal role offers the rare opportunity to build the operational heartbeat of a high-growth enterprise from the ground up, ensuring the facility's state-of-the-art machinery is primed for performance before the first batch hits the line. The Opportunity Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be the technical guardian of a sophisticated production floor. As a Maintenance Engineer in a brand-new facility, you will be establishing the maintenance culture, managing the equipment qualification programs, and ensuring every production line is optimized for world-class output. Your Key Responsibilities Operational Readiness: Set up production lines according to the schedule and manage the end-to-end equipment maintenance program. Preventative & Corrective Maintenance: Perform hands-on maintenance and coordinate specialized repairs with external vendors and service providers. Quality & Compliance: Assist the Head of Quality with Equipment Qualification programs and ensure all activities adhere to strict GMP requirements. Safety & Regulatory: Maintain machinery in full compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements, ensuring a safe working environment at all times. Asset Management: Manage spare parts inventory and technical documentation to minimize downtime and ensure operational continuity. Leadership & Training: Provide technical training to the production team on machine setup and basic maintenance protocols. What You Bring We are looking for a proactive technician who balances mechanical expertise with a highly organised compliance first mindset. Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a maintenance role, ideally within the Cosmetics, Food, or Pharmaceutical industries. Qualifications: Minimum Cert IV in Engineering or a relevant technical field. A degree-qualified background in a relevant engineering discipline will be highly regarded and is preferred. Specialized Knowledge: Proven experience maintaining complex cosmetics or pharmaceutical equipment (filling, packing, and mixing machinery). Vendor Management: The authority and confidence to select and manage external service providers and approve maintenance procedures.
