The role An excellent opportunity has arisen for a 5-8 year commercial lawyer in this varied and “hands on” minimum 14-month contract role. An approachable, customer and solutions focused commercial lawyer is sought to join the company’s lean legal function. An interest in cars and the automotive industry is desirable for this business facing role. Reporting to a supportive and highly experienced General Counsel, you will negotiate, draft and review a range of commercial agreements including sales, supplier agreements, marketing and sponsorship agreements. In this varied role, you will advise the business divisions of this major international car company on a variety of legal areas. You will be involved in reviewing advertising and marketing material and advise on competition and consumer law, privacy, property law, product liability and insurance matters. About you A 5-8 year commercial lawyer with strong a contract law background is sought. Any prior experience in privacy and/or consumer products will also be highly desirable. Our client is open to candidates coming from either private practice or in-house. More experienced candidates who are comfortable with the remuneration range for this role will also be considered. The ideal candidate will have broad commercial legal experience and a “can do”, flexible approach. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, a high level of attention to detail and commerciality are essential qualities.
