What you’ll do: Maintain and service water infrastructure assets including dams, river systems and associated mechanical plant, ensuring all works are completed in line with trade standards, regulatory compliance, organisational requirements and industry best practice. Support reliable water delivery by undertaking surveillance, inspection and monitoring of water supply assets to ensure the accurate quantity and quality of water is delivered to customers. Execute operational maintenance and minor capital works to support the preventative maintenance program, contributing technical input, fault identification and recommendations for continuous improvement. Respond effectively to emergency and incident events by adhering to emergency management policies and procedures and participating in flood operations, dam safety activities, lock operations and piped water supply and treatment operations as required. Ensure high-quality documentation and reporting of maintenance and service activities to support operational decision-making, compliance obligations and effective stakeholder communication. What we are looking for: Trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering with a strong preference for Fitter Machinist (Metals) or equivalent mechanical trade certification. Demonstrated post-trade experience in mechanical maintenance, overhaul, repair and fabrication of metal components within industrial, utilities, water, energy, mining or heavy asset environments. Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills , with the ability to diagnose issues, interpret technical drawings and schematics, and implement effective, compliant solutions. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team , managing competing priorities while contributing positively to site operations and maintenance programs. Strong communication and documentation skills , including the ability to accurately record maintenance activities, inspections and defects within maintenance management systems (CMMS).
