Why is this Leading Hand/Junior Foreman job for you? You've got a carpentry apprenticeship behind you, have worked on construction projects for a few years, and you've had some extra responsibility on sites. Senior guys on site have trusted you with harder tasks and to be fully across safety. You aren't the type of person to just rock up and plod along; you want career progression and one day be off the tools. You've seen too many older guys with knackered knees. In this company, you'd have a foreman and an SM above you to teach you what you don't know. And you are keen to soak up the knowledge and apply it. You've got good organisation skills, you know what safe work looks like and how to apply it, and you are a good communicator with your peers and subbies around you. You'd learn within an environment that takes ownership, works hard and gets great construction projects delivered. If one day you want to be a SM running your own $50-$100million project then this is the role that will set you on that journey. You'd start as a perm employee on $100-$110k super a yearly bonus and as you progress up the ranks you could one day be on $250k Sounds good! What do you expect from me? To be the ideal person for this role, you just need to tick the following 4 points. You've completed your Cert III in carpenrty and ideally, you've started or completed your Cert IV as well You've had some extra responsibility on sites before, such as driven the safety culture, managing trades or coordinating materials. You are a good communicator and work well with others. Building as a team and helping others is key here. You are good at following a system and process.
