Diesel Motor Mechanic Nebo, QLD, Full Time, Trades & Services Vacancy Listing Dates 16/02/2026 to 16/03/2026 Please Quote Reference Number 15497 Skilled Diesel Motor Mechanic wanted Full time opportunity Join the Nebo Motors and Towing team We are seeking an experienced and motivated Qualified Diesel Motor Mechanic to join our team at E.L Sampson-Coombs & G.A Coombs T/A Nebo Motors and Towing. The ideal candidate will be a hard worker, honest, and reliable, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality mechanical work across a wide variety of vehicles. The Nebo Motors and Towing premises comprise of a small automotive parts, accessories and safety shop; and an automotive servicing, mechanical and tyre fitting workshop. Its sister business, Nebo Towing Services, holds local RACQ Roadside and Towing contracts in addition to nine other roadside contracts. Duties and responsibilities include: Inspecting diesel engines, transmissions, braking systems and associated components to diagnose faults and determine required repairs. Using diagnostic equipment and scan tools to identify mechanical and electrical malfunctions in diesel powered vehicles and machinery. Dismantling diesel engines and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components for inspection and repair. Repairing and replacing worn or defective engine components including pistons, crankshafts, bearings, fuel injectors and turbochargers. Servicing and repairing fuel injection systems, cooling systems and emission control systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications. Overhauling diesel engines and associated components to restore performance and efficiency. Reassembling engines and mechanical components and testing vehicles to ensure proper operation and compliance with safety standards. Conducting routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, brake servicing, clutch repairs and suspension work. Performing logbook servicing and preventative maintenance to reduce breakdown risk and extend vehicle lifespan. Repairing and maintaining hydraulic systems, hoses and fittings on heavy vehicles and equipment. Recording service and repair details accurately and maintaining job documentation and customer records. Supervising and mentoring apprentices and junior mechanics in workshop procedures and safety practices. Maintaining a clean and safe workshop environment and ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements. In order to be successful, applicants must have: Relevant Trade qualification or at least three years of full-time relevant experience. Strong knowledge of servicing and mechanical repairs across a wide range of vehicles. Diagnostic skills, including locating faults and completing mechanical repairs. Applicants will also have: Exceptional technical, interpersonal, and team-building skills. Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and professionally. Ability to liaise and work in a team environment. Ability to carry out, finalise, and accurately record jobs & associated paperwork. Ability to supervise and mentor both male and female mature-age apprentices.
