About the role: We are currently seeking an experienced Coal Handling Preparation Plant (CHPP ) Operator with an electrical trade to join our high performing team at our Wilpinjong mine. Our Wilpinjong Mine is an open-cut mine located 58 kilometres northeast of Mudgee producing a high quality thermal coal for export and domestic markets. We have a mine life currently in the 2030s and are exploring options and designs to expand that for another decade. Reporting to the CHPP Shift Supervisor, the scope of your role will be to operate all areas of the Coal Preparation plant in line with production schedules whilst working within a small crew. The majority of trade work is completed by external contractors on planned regular shutdowns, so this is more of a processing and first pass maintaining / trade role with good variety. Endeavouring to provide variety in the day, rotating the CHPP tasks through the day, duties will include: Operate and monitor the preparation plant to optimise production. Identify, report and act on all hazards. Perform first response breakdown maintenance tasks as required. Operate stockpile dozers to manage the product coal stockpile, reclaim operations and train loading in line with schedules and blend parameters Maintain CHPP equipment as requested during scheduled maintenance periods. Maintain cleanliness of all areas of the CHPP and Train Loadout. About you: Candidate must have either CHPP Processing experience AND an electrical trade qualification Ability to communicate effectively and share knowledge and information. Ability to work in a team environment and effectively resolve conflicts with fellow team members. Ability to work accurately and quickly under pressure. Able to take accountability for their own work and development.
