Job Description ACCIONA Agua delivers world‑class sustainable water infrastructure—from advanced desalination facilities to major potable and wastewater treatment plants. We are expanding our commissioning leadership team and seeking a skilled Supervisor – I&C Commissioning to support the delivery of complex, high‑value water projects across Australia. This role is ideal for an experienced commissioning professional who thrives in dynamic site environments, brings strong instrumentation & control knowledge, and excels in coordinating multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, high‑quality outcomes. About the Role As the I&C Commissioning Supervisor , you will oversee the execution of instrumentation and control commissioning activities on major water infrastructure projects. You will manage daily commissioning tasks, supervise subcontractors and technicians, coordinate with engineering and construction teams, ensure safety compliance, and verify that all I&C systems meet performance and functional requirements. This role has a strong site presence and is critical to achieving operational readiness for treatment facilities. Key Responsibilities Commissioning Execution Supervise day‑to‑day I&C commissioning activities, including loop checks, calibration, functional testing, and system start‑up. Coordinate commissioning sequences in alignment with project schedules and construction interfaces. Review and implement commissioning plans, ITPs, procedures, and method statements. Support FATs, SATs, PLC/SCADA testing, and troubleshoot instrumentation or control logic issues. Verify the operation and integration of process instrumentation, control valves, MCC/PLC panels, and SCADA interfaces. Leadership & Coordination Lead site technicians, subcontractors, and vendors performing I&C commissioning works. Collaborate closely with electrical, mechanical, civil, and process engineering teams. Ensure all commissioning tasks comply with safety, environmental, and quality standards. Provide daily progress reporting and maintain accurate commissioning records. Identify risks early and implement mitigation measures in collaboration with site leadership. Quality, Safety & Compliance Implement safe work practices and ensure risk controls are followed. Uphold ACCIONA’s “Quality at ACCIONA” principles through structured testing and documentation. Review and validate commissioning deliverables, redlines, and as‑built information. Promote continuous improvement and drive problem‑solving initiatives during commissioning phases. Required Skills and Competencies Essential Trade qualification or degree in Electrical , Instrumentation & Control , or similar discipline. Extensive experience supervising I&C commissioning on infrastructure, utilities, or process‑heavy industrial facilities. Strong understanding of PLC, SCADA, industrial instrumentation, and control system architecture. Demonstrated ability to lead teams in commissioning environments. Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills. Highly Desirable Water sector commissioning experience (desalination, wastewater, potable water treatment). Experience with digital engineering tools (BIM, digital models). Exposure to large‑scale EPC or D&C project environments.
