This practice is currently offering a Practice Nurse position, ideal for Nurses looking to work in a dynamic and supportive environment. About the Job: This role provides comprehensive clinical and patient care services within a general practice setting, working collaboratively with medical and allied health staff to support high-quality patient outcomes. Responsibilities include delivering evidence-based clinical care, assisting with procedures, triage, immunisations, wound and chronic disease management, diagnostic testing, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation. The position plays a key role in patient education, preventative health, care coordination, recalls, outreach programs, and community health promotion. The role also has responsibility for infection prevention and control, cold chain management, equipment maintenance, stock control, and ensuring compliance with legislative, accreditation, OHS, and waste management requirements. In addition, the position supports practice operations through staff supervision, delegation, patient advocacy, home and hospital visits when required, and occasional reception relief. The role operates within professional nursing standards, codes of ethics, and current best-practice guidelines, contributing to continuous improvement in clinical systems and patient care. Essential Criteria: Registered nurse with appropriate tertiary qualifications and professional indemnity cover Minimum one year nursing experience, preferably in general practice or community-based settings Strong understanding of primary health care, patient education, and health promotion Clinical knowledge of immunisations, diabetes and asthma management, infection control, CPR, and emergency procedures Experience with clinical equipment, medications, and practice software (e.g. Best Practice, PENCS CAT4) Effective communication skills with patients, doctors, and practice staff Ability to work collaboratively under medical supervision and promote teamwork Commitment to maintaining accreditation standards and best-practice clinical care Supports positive workplace culture and professional practice image Works with management to accurately categorise patients and optimise funding within Australian primary care systems Desirable: additional clinical certifications, Medicare item knowledge, health fund experience, and APNA membership
