The Facilities Services Lead acts as the on-site operational lead for property and maintenance services, ensuring the school’s buildings, grounds, and infrastructure are safe, compliant, and maintained to a high standard. The role leads the day-to-day delivery of maintenance services, coordinates trade contractors and minor capital works, oversees function and event setups, and manages operational resources to support the smooth functioning of the campus. While providing leadership and coordination of the maintenance team, the role maintains a hands-on approach, undertaking repairs and maintenance tasks as required. This role is based at our Woollahra Campus, and will work across our Bondi Secondary Campus. Hours for the role will be 7:30am - 3:30pm.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintenance & Facilities Operations • Oversee daily maintenance of buildings, grounds, and services to ensure safety, functionality, and presentation. • Manage and prioritise reactive and planned maintenance through the work-order system, including task allocation and follow‑up. • Carry out hands‑on maintenance and repairs when required. Contractor & Trade Coordination • Coordinate and supervise external contractors, ensuring safe, timely, and compliant completion of works, including managing inductions and site access. Minor Capital Works & Projects • Plan, coordinate, and deliver minor capital works by defining scope, timelines, and quality outcomes with stakeholders. Procurement & Budget Oversight • Source materials and services in line with procurement processes, monitor expenditure, and identify cost efficiencies. Team Leadership & Service Delivery • Lead and support maintenance staff, overseeing workflow, service response times, and fostering a proactive, accountable team culture. Event & Function Support • Coordinate setup and pack-down for school events, ensuring venues meet operational and safety requirements. Operational Readiness & Daily Checks • Conduct daily campus inspections, addressing or escalating issues to maintain operational readiness. Grounds, Safety & Compliance • Monitor grounds presentation and WHS compliance, maintaining records, identifying risks, and implementing corrective actions.THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE: • Demonstrated leadership experience in maintenance, facilities, or building services roles. • Experience coordinating maintenance workflows and supervising contractors. • Strong understanding of WHS and facilities compliance requirements. • Experience managing operational budgets and procurement processes. • Proficiency in the use of tools, machinery, and general building maintenance practices. • Familiarity with facilities management systems and record-keeping practices. • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. • Work Health and Safety (WHS) and Traffic Management qualifications would be highly regarded. • Experience with AV systems and school environments desirable.
