Lead ACCIONA’s approach to media management across Australia & New Zealand The Opportunity This is a key strategic role for an experienced communications or corporate affairs professional with a background and passion for sustainable solutions who thrives in a fast‑paced, high‑profile environment. As Senior Advisor, Stakeholder Engagement, Media & Communications, you will play a pivotal role in shaping public understanding and support for ACCIONA’s Energy Recovery portfolio across Australia and New Zealand. You will lead media engagement for ACCIONA across Australia and New Zealand and take accountability for developing integrated communications strategies for ACCIONA’s Energy Recovery portfolio at a time of significant growth and transformation in the Energy Recovery sector. This is an opportunity to work closely with senior leaders, guide reputation‑defining narratives, and contribute to projects that support the transition to a more sustainable and circular economy. Key responsibilities: Lead stakeholder identification, engagement planning, and collaboration across project teams to ensure clear, inclusive, and risk‑aware communication for energy recovery. Facilitate effective engagement activities by providing timely information, gathering feedback, and ensuring transparency in decision‑making. Shape ACCIONA’s energy recovery positioning by setting strategic communication objectives, managing issues, and representing the organisation in key forums. Address complaints and resolve conflicts through empathetic communication, clear escalation pathways, and techniques that support constructive dialogue. Manage ACCIONA’s media engagement and identify opportunities for proactive positioning. Deliver reporting and evaluation by monitoring performance, analysing insights, maintaining accurate data, and communicating findings to stakeholders and leadership. Required Skills and Competencies Proven ability to build, manage and influence relationships with government, industry, media and community stakeholders in complex or sensitive environments. Demonstrated experience leading proactive and reactive media activity, shaping key messages, and mitigating reputational risk through structured, evidence‑based communication. Experience developing and implementing integrated communication plans to build a positive and trusted position in the market. Experience working as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, collaborating with subject matter experts and communicating effectively to represent the organisation and deliver high‑quality communications outcomes. Experience in a similar role ideally from the energy sector. Prior study or work experience in environmental engineering, sustainability or the energy industry will be favourably considered, given the importance of sector-specific credibility.
