The key duties of the position include Employment Opportunity The Departmental Security Unit (DSU) manages the protective security function for the Attorney General's Department. Security is treated as an enabling service that supports transformation, innovation, and effective ways of working across the department. This APS4 role is a key operational support position within DSU. Your responsibilities will include: Personnel Security Conduct pre-employment screening for prospective staff and contractors, including verification checks and documentation processing. Maintain accurate and current personnel security records in DSU systems and registers. Support management of security clearances and PSPF related requirements. Inbox, Enquiries and Support Manage DSU's shared security mailbox, triage requests, draft responses, and escalate matters as required. Provide assistance via DSU's dedicated phone line and respond to routine security information requests. Deliver consistent, client focused service to internal stakeholders. Security Operations and Administration Assist with the coordination of security access passes, security containers, and secure areas. Support DSU reporting, registers, document preparation, and administrative workflows. Provide secretariat or logistical support for DSU related committees, briefings, or engagement activities. How you can help us make a difference The Security Administrator works closely with advisors and managers to ensure DSU services are delivered efficiently and professionally. This role suits applicants with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and an interest in protective security. APS or prior security experience is not essential however transferable skills and diverse backgrounds are welcome.
