Job Description The Associate Professor / Professor in Prosthodontics is a member of the School of Medicine and Dentistry’s academic team, and specifically will plan and lead specialist education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, conduct research and undertake appropriate administrative duties. The Associate Professor / Professor in Prosthodontics will be a leading authority in their discipline and is expected to exercise a special responsibility in providing academic leadership and in fostering excellence in research, teaching, engagement and professional activities. The Associate Professor / Professor in Prosthodontics will support the Dean of Dentistry and the Head of School in implementing the School’s strategy as it relates to learning and teaching and research and will be expected to advance research-informed clinical education and research within the School. To be appointed Professor, the successful candidate will have achieved international recognition through original, innovative and distinguished contributions to the field of expertise, which is demonstrated by sustained and distinguished performance. To be appointed as Associate Professor, the successful candidate will show evidence of original, innovative contributions to the field of expertise, and the drive to expand their sphere of influence through international research and scholarly collaborations. In this role, the successful candidate will make substantial distinctive contributions to teaching, research and engagement within the Dentistry and Oral Health discipline. They will also make major original and innovative contributions to the field of expertise which are recognised as outstanding nationally or internationally. They will be responsible for establishing and maintaining ongoing collaborative partnerships that support learning and teaching, research and service within dentistry and oral health, health professions and health care services as relevant to the discipline. The level of appointment will depend on the qualifications and experience of the preferred candidate. This is a full-time, continuing position based at the Gold Coast campus of Griffith University. The position is also available as part-time, as a job-share arrangement (e.g. 0.6/0.4 FTE or 0.5FTE x 2) to accommodate clinical commitments. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations. Griffith University’s sites are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples. Salary Range The full time equivalent base salary for an Academic Associate Professor (Level D) will range from $167,008 - $183,992 per annum 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will range from $195,400 - $215,271 per annum. The full time equivalent base salary will be Academic Professor (Level E) is $215,130 per annum 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be $251,703 per annum.
